::Signature Contest 2006::
So i entered the Signature Gathering contest again this year. Again I didn't win a spot to go to Vegas, but it's ok. I liked how my work turned out. Here's some pics to share!

::Caper::
I'm leaving for an educational trip on Sunday morning, and that makes me very excited. The event is called Caper, which means I'm going to be able to take Advanced Academy haircutting and color classes. Not to mention the awesome free time I'll have in Vegas. We get to stay at the Mandalay Bay. I'm really looking forward to the experience. I'll get to try and network with students from other Paul Mitchell schools and affiliate schools, we get to party down, and we get to just fart around with tons of free time. On top of that, we get hours for not being at school. I love having chances like these to fall ridiculously infatuated with my industry. I promise, there will be plenty of pictures.
More importantly, I wanted to post because it never ceases to amaze me at how awesome my relationship with my significant other is. Minh is crazy supportive in every way imaginable. I didn't feel the greatest after coming home from school tonight but he always finds a way to make me feel twenty times better. He doesn't have to do anything major, because I'm a girl who appreciates all the little things. Just by being available to talk when I'm frustrated or feeling down is so amazing. He takes such good care of me, like cooking me a meal when I'm tired and hungry. He just gives me so much attention and can always make me laugh. Honestly, how lucky am I? I swear I'm more enamored with him each day. Two years have passed and we're still going strong. He's seen me at my worst, at my best, and everything in between. And after all that, I melt when he gives me a certain look because I know it's out of love. *sigh* I'm happy. Minh is like my security blanket. He's warm, always there when I need him, and I just feel safe when we're together. And that ends my ode to Minh. He's my life and my everything.
Random Blurb: I'm going to miss him like a sissy girl while I'm in Vegas.
::Some Fashion Show Shots::
So I did it! 3 models in under 3 hours with the help of Lauren in the make-up department. The girls I worked with are awesome and they put up with A LOT!!! Poor Rita was getting high off of hairspray fumes and I don't think it sat too well with her. Not to mention the irritation that came along with wearing false eyelashes. We had to take those off so the girl could see. Angeline ended up with a horrible experience as far as velcro rollers are concerned. Honestly, Mary's experience was probably the least torturous. Everything went according to plan for her look which was a huge relief. All in all it was a great experience. The girls did great and I can't wait to see the awesome photos taken by the professional photographers that were there. So...enjoy!
Mary and Rita before they walk.
Group Shot 2Random Blurb: I'm so looking forward to more opportunities like this. It was stressful but worth every minute!
::Fashion Show!::
I'm so excited. School has been such a great experience. Of course there have been some challenges with just things but I have to say it's been worth it. My school is putting on a fashion/hair show to benefit those who've been affected by the hurricanes in the Gulf Coast. I love how the Paul Mitchell culture teaches us to give back to our community and really make it part of the professionals and people we grow into as our education progresses. So I guess I'll do a shameless plug right about now. I'd love for as many people as possible to come out to this show. I'll be having 3 models of my own in this show, but even if I was participating I have to spread the word because I truly believe in this cause. So here's the info for anyone who's interested:

So that's my generic blurb that I've been putting on everyone's myspace comments and in myspace bulletins. I'm so excited for this show. I'm glad that as students, were afforded such great opportunities to learn in ways that are more non-traditional. *sigh* I'm glad I didn't go right into beauty school, I don't think I'd appreciate it as much if I did.
In other news, my hair has definitely been going through some evolution. It has progressively become shorter and there have been at least 5 different color combinations at different points in the past 7 months. So here's a peek at the latest. It's nothing fancy, but I love it. My learning leader, Manny, maybe considered scissor happy but hell he can cut some hair!

All in all, I don't have a whole hell of a lot to update on. I'm just excited about my first real fashion show. I'll definitely post some pictures! So I guess this is it until some real interesting events pop up in the mean time.
