::Tuesday is the Day for the Pet of the Week!::

Well to help keep my positive atittude going on in all aspects of my life, I just wanted to encourage those of you who have the space in your home and your heart to go and visit your local animal shelters. There are so many loving pets who are out there for you. Sadly, many shelters are overcrowded and more and more animals are being euthanized. I know that here in San Diego County especially, our local shelters are overflowing with dogs, cats, and other types of pets. Many military men and women who are based here in San Diego had to unfortunately either put their pets up for adoption in local or military shelters, or end up trying to sell them or give them away to loving people. Those in the military who were fortunate enough to have friends or family take care of their beloved pets are among the lucky few who didn't have to give up that part of their families. In the spirit of goodwill, I do hope that you all who are capable of taking in a new pet would do so.

With all that said, here's my choice for pet of the week. Her name is Kiva and she's a beautiful Rottweiler/Mix. She's 7 years old. For more information, please visit the San Diego County Animal Control website. You can also take a look at many other animals that are looking for a home.
