::Ashes to Ashes::
Another Ash Wednesday is upon us. I hope those of you who are practicing Christians got all the sinning out of your system yesterday. If you didn't, well no worries. Honestly, I only consider myself a Catholic because that was how I was baptized. Religious practices were never really shoved down my throat. My parents aren't super devout. We used to make it a point to go to mass weekly, but right now I'm actually the only one in my family who still bothers to go to mass. Quite strange considering I'm also the only in my family who has yet to receive their first communion, but I digress.The point of this post was to talk a little about the film which is causing so much ruckus. I'm speaking of course about, "The Passion of the Christ". There's just so much controversy surrounding its release. Basically, the movie is a depiction of the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus Christ. Now, the Jewish community is upset because they fear that they will feel the burning backlash since they are shown in a negative light. We have other people saying that the religious intentions behind this production will be lost to the graphic violence. Then we have those who praise the movie for the story-telling. Others who give it a thumbs up because of the attempts made to make the film more true to historical records. Honestly, I'm extremely tired of the hype. I just want to watch the movie so that I can form my own opinion. Hmm...just a thought for now. Good morning to all!
Randbom Blurb: I still need to figure out what I'm giving up for Lent. Hmm...?
